First Grade is filled with many learning opportunities! First graders work hard throughout the year to develop lifelong literacy skills, such as phonics, decoding, fluency, comprehension, and writing. We also learn many important math concepts, such as adding and subtracting, building number sense, and how to tackle those tough word problems... just to name a few! In first grade, students also learn important life skills. We build our problem solving and social-emotional skills as we learn how to foster positive relationships with others through direct instruction and daily real-world application.

We used district-adopted and school-adopted curriculum as our foundation for instruction, and supplement with additional learning opportunities to best meet students' needs.
